XtaLAB SuperNova

The XtaLAB SuperNova includes a high-flux, low maintenance microfocus sealed tube with a high precision kappa goniometer with a Hybrid Photon Counting detector (HPC), the HyPix-Bantam. The XtaLAB SuperNova can be equipped with dual sources for data collection on a broad range of sample types - Cu, Mo and Ag sources are available. The XtaLAB SuperNova control software, CrysAlisPro, allows for easy software-switching between wavelengths. The XtaLAB SuperNova is a compact, mid-range yet full-featured system that requires little servicing to maximize uptime and throughput. It is the ideal diffractometer for crystallography research laboratories.

XtaLAB Synergy-R

The XtaLAB Synergy-R is the most powerful small molecule diffractometer available. It includes a high-flux, low maintenance microfocus rotating anode, the PhotonJet-R, with a high-precision kappa goniometer and Rigaku's own Hybrid Photon Counting detector (HPC) the HyPix-6000HE. The PhotonJet-R X-ray source is comprised of a Micromax-007 HF rotating anode and a newly designed optic. It is available with either Cu or Mo anodes.

XtaLAB mini II

The Rigaku XtaLAB mini II benchtop X-ray crystallography system is a compact single crystal X-ray diffractometer designed to produce publication-quality 3D structures. XtaLAB Synergy Custom

We realize that standard systems may not fit the needs for every lab, so we also offer XtaLAB Synergy Custom systems for those labs who want to take advantage of dual ports or want to integrate special components, such as ACTOR sample changers. Additionally, for laboratories that want even greater flux we offer custom high flux options like an FR-X based diffraction system.


The XtalCheck system is an automated tool for performing in situ crystallography experiments on your existing X-ray diffraction system. Protein crystallography often requires screening large numbers of crystals to identify samples that are suitable for X-ray diffraction experiments. Specifically, crystallographers usually loop and cryo-freeze samples for X-ray screening to identify whether the sample contains a protein or salt and to evaluate diffraction resolution, mosaicity and other crystal parameters. This iterative process of mounting and screening of many samples is time consuming and rarely automated. The XtalCheck system addresses this bottleneck by automating diffraction data collection for crystals directly from SBS format crystallization plates.


Rigaku's BioSAXS-2000 SAXS system is designed specifically to meet the needs of the structural biologist. Based on a patented two-dimensional Kratky design, the BioSAXS-2000 provides higher flux on the sample and takes up much less space than conventional 3-pinhole SAXS systems. Best of all, the BioSAXS-2000 can be mounted on the open port of a Rigaku rotating anode X-ray generator, taking full advantage of existing infrastructure, or it can be mated to a Rigaku microfocus sealed tube X-ray source. The BioSAXS AUTO configuration incorporates two time-saving features: an Automatic Sample Changer for unattended overnight operation and an Automatic Analysis Pipeline based on the world standard ATSAS package from EMBL Hamburg.
